I recently started doing these paint-by-numbers. I have always wanted to paint pictures, but I am not that talented. I came across the paint-by-number while looking for a housewarming gift for my childhood friend. I wanted to do something nice for her to cheer her up and show her how loved she was. She suffered a great tragedy in 2020 when she lost her entire family. She was feeling alone and slipping into a great depression. I don't think I could have survived the horrors she faced that year. She was able to get her childhood home from her parent's estate and I wanted to give her something special. When we were little girls, she wanted to grow up and be a ballerina, she had this music box with a spinning ballerina in it. When I came across this paint-by-number, I knew this was what I wanted to do for her. Sure, I didn't come up with the design, and I am not terribly talented, but the time and love that I put into this paint-by-number meant more to her than anything else I could have bought to give her. She cried when I gave it to her because I remembered her ballerina dreams when nobody else was alive to remember. There are tons of paint-by-numbers on amazon to choose from. I would recommend getting one that is already framed because trying to stretch this ballerina painting onto a frame myself wasn't the easiest process. If you do decide to frame one yourself, I recommend stretching it onto a frame BEFORE you paint. As you can see, there are still some wrinkles that developed after I stretched it, I had a hard time doing it alone, so get someone to help if you do end up stretching it yourself.
